2 Timothy 1 "SEE" Spirit !!!!!

Verse 7 When God calls a person to do a task, he makes that person able to do it. Timothy was a quiet and shy man. But God had appointed him to lead the church at Ephesus. So, God gave him all that he needed to do the task.
The gift of the Holy Spirit of God would not cause him to be afraid. Instead, it would make him bold. He need not be shy or afraid to use his authority in the church.
God by his Spirit gives power to all who need it. He gives them the power to do what he asks them to do. Timothy can be the leader that God wants. He can be that leader with the power that God gives. The gift of God provides the strength of character that he needs.

For so many years the Spirit was not discussed or even mentioned in the places I worshiped. What a shame! "God by His Spirit gives power"...How can we be bold and be dead to self without the Spirit. If we are bold on our own we are just selfish and self centered. We need to Read, study, pray, have conversation with God and let the Spirit go in each of our lives. Then when God gives direction, the Spirit gives us all we need to do the task. And give God the glory...we're dead!!

20-21And oh, my dear Timothy, guard the treasure you were given! Guard it with your life. Avoid the talk-show religion and the practiced confusion of the so-called experts. People caught up in a lot of talk can miss the whole point of faith.

Verse 20 Paul ends his letter with some final advice for Timothy. God has given him that life which comes through *faith in the *Lord Jesus Christ. God has called Timothy and given him the task of being a leader in the church. God has trusted him to teach the truth and to spread the *gospel. Timothy must keep and guard all that God has given to him. He must take care to live as God would want him to live. He must lead the church in the ways of truth. What he says and does must point people to the *Lord.
In order to keep the truth, Timothy should avoid empty talk. Such talk wastes time and does not advance the cause of Christ. It may even be against God.
He also should not waste time with what the false teachers say. They oppose the truth. They claim that their ideas are knowledge. But they do not know the truth. And what they teach is wrong.
Verse 21 Some had believed what the false teachers taught. They claimed to have this knowledge. This has caused them to turn from the truth of what the *Lord Jesus and the *apostles taught. As a result, they no longer believe in the tr

ue *gospel of Christ.

Boy its easy to get caught up into meaningless babble, Or church politics! Sometimes I wonder, since we're so bogged down , if the evil one has us right where it wants us. Try to be careful where what and how you talk to others. When you leave someone after a conversation, do they feel encouraged or defeated?  Even when you need to talk to someone, you may disagree with, you don't leave them feeling like dirt. Watch your empty talk!!

What? we are to treat each other like family?? 1 Timothy 5

1-2Don't be harsh or impatient with an older man. Talk to him as you would your own father, and to the younger men as your brothers. Reverently honor an older woman as you would your mother, and the younger women as sisters.

After reading this, my mind went right to how people treat other people, or how people treat me and my family. Which is easy to relate to here lately. But the more personal and selfless lesson is how do I treat others. Paul is telling me to treat men, women,... young and old, like family. Mmmmm....That looks real nice!
